HISTORIC CULTURAL NORTH NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL – Representing Chinatown, El Pueblo, Solano Canyon, and Victor Heights in the City of Los Angeles

Neighborhood Council Meetings To Resume Online and By Phone

Neighborhood Council meetings are resuming online and by telephone. Under a new “virtual governance” plan, which was developed by the City’s Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (DONE), neighborhood councils will be able to conduct public meetings, while complying with state and local “Safer at Home” orders.

Neighborhood councils will not meet at a physical meeting location, but will conduct meetings online and by telephone using a platform such as Zoom. Meeting agendas still must be posted in at least one physical location and posted online. Agendas must also include instructions for the public on how to participate in the meeting and provide public comment. For more information about this new virtual governance plan, visit the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment EVG portal at https://empowerla.org/EVG/. This portal includes information available to the public, as well as specialized trainings available only to neighborhood council board members.

HCNNC’s next regularly scheduled meeting is on Friday, May 15. More information about that meeting is coming soon.
