The City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) is planning safety and mobility improvements to close a critical gap in the City’s transportation network – along Spring/Alameda Streets, from Wilhardt St to Los Angeles St – to increase safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users, and enhance travel options for everyone.
The project is currently in the Planning & Design phase. LADOT is focused on understanding the full range of issues people experience along Spring Street and Alameda Street. They are especially interested in hearing from community members about transportation safety concerns, access challenges, and ideas for how the street could function better for everyone.
Take the Project Planning Survey.
In 2024, Los Angeles voters passed Healthy Streets LA, which requires the City to implement standard design elements outlined in its Mobility Plan 2035 when constructing qualifying street improvements. The project streets are identified on the Mobility Plan Bicycle Enhanced Network, Bicycle Lane Network, and Pedestrian Enhanced District. The proposed project will incorporate the City’s standard elements that improve bicycle and pedestrian safety and connectivity consistent with these designations.
Public feedback is crucial to shaping the scope and design of this project. Please share your input by taking the Project Planning Survey. Participants will be entered into an opportunity drawing for a chance to win one of two $50 gift cards. Please submit your response by September 8, 2025.
In addition, you are invited to provide feedback during a number of upcoming community events throughout the corridor:
