Elysian Park Master Plan Survey

Elysian Park is one of Los Angeles’ oldest and most loved public parks. It has been a place for people to relax, play, exercise, gather, and connect with nature for generations. The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) is launching a master planning process to develop a shared vision for Elysian Park that improves environmental resilience and the overall visitor experience, while protecting the qualities people already value and enjoy. This vision will help guide future improvements and the long-term care of the park, ensuring it continues to serve the community for years to come.

The project is just getting started, and your input is an important part of shaping the future of this special park! As a first step, the project team is focused on understanding the park through research, site analysis, and conversations with community members, park users, stakeholders, and City staff.

A key part of this work is hearing directly from the people who know and use Elysian Park: YOU! For this, RAP, along with the Master Plan design team led by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates (MVVA), invites you to share your thoughts through a short community survey. The survey takes about 10–15 minutes to complete and asks about your experiences in the park, what you value most, and your hopes for its future. Your responses are anonymous and will help inform the ideas developed during this master planning process.

We encourage you to take the survey and share it with your friends, families, neighbors, and broader communities. The more voices that are included, the better the plan will reflect the needs and dreams of those who love and use Elysian Park.
